Mudman - What's In A Name?
I have three G-Shocks, as well as numerous other watches. Construction is typical G-Shock, in that it is pretty much guaranteed to withstand the rigours of daily life, let alone a few excursions 'off-road'.

Lots of functionality, alarms, stopwatch, countdown timers, as well as world time. Not solar powered, so you can expect to have a new battery fitted every two years, or sooner, if you make use of the auto-illumination function to impress your partner at night.

The watch is comfortable to wear, light, and with a good quality resin strap. As with most digital watches of this type, the display contents are all about presentation, with lots of small items to squint at. However, the time and date components are easily read under most conditions, and, of course, there is the illuminator to play with at night, which is very pretty, but probably a major battery depletion factor. Oh, and the alarm works OK, as one might expect.

Because this model is being marketted as being a little bit more rugged than usual, the buttons are even more resistant to the incursion of dust, dirt and water than usual. Still 200m water resistance, but it is worth knowing that those buttons are very stiff on this model. If your needs include a lot of accurate stopwatch type mseasurements, then the stiffness of the buttons will not help in any way.

Bottom line; If you like rugged, can cope with the colour and stiffness of the buttons, and are prepared to feed the watch new batteries periodically, then this is a great novelty watch. Just don't wear it to interviews in the city!

Great.
This is a great looking watch, not too big and chunky. I wanted it purly for the way it looks, not really used all the stop watch bits and alarms. Just wanted something that looks good on my wrist and I don't have to worry if it gets bashed about a bit. Should think i'll get a good few years wear out of it.

Stiff Buttons !!!!
I have had the watch for just a couple of weeks
and find it an excellent product BUT as has been
said by other reviewer's. The control buttons are
incredibly stiff, and being elderly and arthritic
I find that it is virtualy impossible for me to use
the stop watch facility.I feel that this point should
be made clear in the adverts. All in all a fine piece
of kit, and excellent value I particularly like the
backlight feature. Fix the problem the buttons and
you will have a real winner!.
