VERY BRIGHT LIGHTS
These bike lights are good value and provide a variety of bright lighting options for both front and rear. The front light is especially useful in that it can operate in three modes. If used in very dark lanes etc. it will light a short way ahead reasonably well using the single halogen mode. If there is suffient ambient light from street lighting to see where you are going then the more economical led fixed or flashing modes are available on their own, allowing you to be seen by others. The rear light is especially dazzling in performance. It has four modes to play with - five bright constant red leds, 5 flashing leds in slow or fast mode and an alternating strobe mode when the leds light up in a sequence which maybe more economical whilst still quite eye-catching. The brackets are frame friendly, simple and secure and allow easy detachment of the lights when you know you'll need to remove them. Fitting was fairly easy with dexterous fingers and just a straight slot screwdriver (wide for the rear light) - though instructions on the packaging were a bit minimal - the rear light strap is designed like a jubilee clip but does has a rather soft plastic tightening screw that needs care not to damage if overused. The front light fixes without the need for tools. However, fitting the batteries in the front light was a bit teasing at first as the instructions just say 'pull off' - but eventually the top housing section slid off the bottom one when effort was correctly applied and the diagram made sense of. Overall, the products appear well made but have yet to stand a test of time and use in all conditions.
