Manufacturer's Description
Tad and his family go to the fair. Through activities like the Ferris wheel, bumper cars and fishing for prizes, children are encouraged to use the My First LeapPad pen to trace lines, circles, curves and other important strokes that will help them build fine motor skills to write letters in Kindergarten. Activities include, the animal alphabet that lets children explore with tracing letters while they learn about animals - from anteaters to zebras. Each page features 2-3 animals that have tracing lines superimposed on top of them. Children have a blast as they trace the different animals, hearing fun sound effects and learning fun facts about those animals. Part of the Preschool Writing series, "Tad's Silly Writing Fair" teaches tracing letters and animals.

A bit of practice...
My just-turned-three daughter has a few of the other leappad books and we bought this one as we thought it would stretch her a bit further. Which it does. You need a bit more concentration and pen-skills as you have to follow shapes and letters instead of just point at them like the other books. She hasn't quite got the hang of it yet, but it's giving her lots of practice and there are lots of games etc which means she doesn't lose interest or get frustrated too easily. I felt she was too young for the regular leappad, so this is an excellent bridge between thw two systems and will prolong the life of this toy until she is ready for the bigger one and her little brother can have this one.
