Good filters, but changing them monthly due to the activated carbon being depleted can get a bit expensive not to mention throwing away all the good bacteria you've built up over the month.

However, if you look closely, the bottom comes off :D so you can remove the sponge. Once removed there is a small circle at the top that just pulls out revealing the activated carbon :P

replace that with new carbon after washing the foam in the same water you removed from tank (to avoid killing the bacteria), replace and its good as new.
