Customer Reviews
This smoothie maker is great!
After getting this for Christmas I was pleasantly surprised. The device is a good weight so it doesn't move around when in use, it is powerful and smooth. Most of all it is easy to use and simple to clean (which always helps). I have already started to experiment with making my own smoothies, some more successful than others, but it's always great fun. Would highly recommend...and it lights up too!!
Not the best
I wasn't all that happy with this product. It is good enough for "softer" ingredients but a large part of the ingredients for my smoothies involve ice and frozen fruit and it isn't all that effecient in dealing with them. Ice will go to the bottom and end up staying underneath the rotating blades and won't get chopped up. The making of a smoothie now takes longer as I have to add "hard" items like these gradually and is quite annoying. When it has a problem with ice it starts making a lot of noise and starts shaking alot. I thought a 500w blender would have no problems with this.
The tap could be handy for some people, but for the type of thick smoothie I make it isn't great as most of the thick blend will stay in the jug while the watery part comes out the tap. The tap is handy for cleaning but don't forget to close it afterwards for the next time!
I used a Kenwood before that wasn't as narrow at the base, with less wattage and it dealt with all the above with no problem whatsoever. Quite frankly I was dissapointed with this product. It could be due to the design, but I'm no expert.
competent smoothie maker
Kenwood Smoothie SB266 Smoothie Maker.
at the price i find this a very competent machine and excellent for simple smoothies. i don't think it is a very robust, and wouldn't take a chance with overly 'tough' ingredients.
very easy to clean, light weight and practical.
