Nikon does it again
With any Nikon product you'd expect the best and you'll not go wrong here. Super sharp photographs right through the range of the lens capablity and a feel and weight that will give you conferdence in any situation, yes it's a lot more expencive than the likes of Sigma etc but tis will out do those lesser models in any test.
Nikon's Silent Wave and Vibration reduction (II) tech does the business and are unobtrusive, the only time you'll notice it is when you switch away from the brand and instanlly what it back. the only time i wouldnt reccomend this lens would be for the smaller DSLR's as it will dwarf the like of the D40.
