No Thrills but they do the job3
    Pros

They are compact and give crystal clear sound. They have an internal battery which is a refreshing change from the zen v travel dock (which they have ceast to make now only £18 months or so into production which is a crying shame) and the creative travel dock which require normal batteries. Also when connected to the power supply it charges both the mp3 player and the onboard battery which is handy.

    Cons

Anyone expecting the sound to be anywhere near as good as the zen v travelsound speakers will be disapointed. True enough these speakers are 60 pounds cheaper but i did expect them to be better. Little or no bass at all. No volume control on the speakers, they are governed by the player itself. The speaker stand is a bit pathetic and is likely to break if your not to careful. The most annoying thing is that i bought it on the creative labs website and no where does it mention about not having the power supply adapter supplied with it. Normally the write up says (power supply not included) when one isnt present but nothing at all is mentioned hence i assumed one was present. Thankfully i could use the one from my zen v dock with a usb convertor on the end so i didnt have to shell out a further £20 on a creative adaptor.

This would push up the cost to around £60 for these speakers and personally i dont think they are worth that as they arent half as good as the zen v travel dock hence the 3 stars. The zen x fi is a brilliant mp3 player but i feel the speakers dont do it justice. Personally i would have prefered to pay more money and have the speakers as good as the zen v version.

As the title says no thrills but they do the job, loud enough for a caravan or hotel etc... but just dont expect to hold a rave with them :)

    Pity about the stand4
I have bought my daughter these for Christmas and having tested them I am now ordering them for myself
I don't profess to be a sound buff so all I can say is that I found them to be better than any other portable speakers - I love the sound from them
General construction is good apart from a scandlously fragile pop out stand. Also lack of mains adapter is miserly. But for these two points I would have given them a 5.

Here I am back on the 20th April 09 and guess what? The stand broke off my daughter's speakers last week and I told her she should have been more careful. Today the stand broke off my speakers and worse still I didn't even do anything to cause the breakage.

TIP. If the stand does break off DO NOT try to construct any sort of metal stand. I accidently pierced the battery and threw the speakers out the bedrom window as they went on FIRE!!!!

    X-fi Travel-around-Sound Bites!!5
I pre-ordered and bought the X-Fi Travelsound dock on its release last year after I invested in my first ever MP3 - the Zen X-Fi 8GB. I invested in the dock as well basically to listen to my Zen in my room and while away on holiday without my earphones in. It has a small pull out stand at the back to keep it sitting upright on a surface when in use. I found the Travelsound was a brilliant additional piece of kit to compliment my X-Fi - very sturdy, easily packed and light enough not to put my luggage over the 20kgs limit! It is also light and small enough to carry about in a bag/handbag if needed. I have even used it sitting on a non slip mat on the dashboard of my old car when its radio cassette went on the blink! The sound is absolutely fantastic when the Zen is docked - plus when plugged in to the mains it has the added advantage of charging both the Zen and the dock at the same time. The battery charge lasts for hours. The X-Fi is easily docked and you can navigate the buttons of it without any problems when it is docked. Originally I was not wanting to fork out the money for the Travelsound but I was glad I decided to pre-order and buy it when it came out - I did so because it gives you the option to listen to your favourite music on your Zen X-Fi without the earphones and allows the fab X-Fi sound to be shared! I have had no problems with the stand - but I agree it is not the most sturdy part of the dock and is held in by short hard plastic pins - if people are finding it is breaking easily Creative may have to have a re-think about this part as it could probably do with being a bit more solid and robust like the rest of the dock. The only other gripe is that, like, when you buy the Zen X-Fi itself, you have to invest in a seperate charger as well - luckily the one charger fits the charging slot in both pieces of equipment. But all in all I felt it has been a fab investment and I love the stereo and clear sound it gives (even at full volume!). My friend was on the hunt for a new MP3 player and was so impressed with it on holiday she decided to invest in the X-Fi and its Travelsound as well! Enough said....hope this was helpful. Cheers :-)
