Manufacturer's Description
The Russell Hobbs Classic 2 Slice Toaster has a clean, polished stainless steel design that’s fit to grace any kitchen, combing classic styling with all the features you’d expect from a modern toaster.

A wide range of browning options are available with the variable browning control, and the frozen bread option means you’re able to cook bread straight from the freezer whilst also being able to deal with different types of food such as crumpets, croissants and drop scones/scotch pancakes. The wide, long slots give you ample room and the cantering guides help you to get a nice, even browning. The carriage lever with an Extra Lift facility also helps you retrieve smaller items without having to risk to yourself or the toaster.

An oldie but a goodie...........4
I ve owned this particular toaster for quite a while now and have had no problems with it whatsoever. The shiny chrome surface does need a bit of polishing now and again to maintain its appearance. However, the top of the toaster does actually become a bit charred with age but overall its a great, reliable product that is good value for money.

burnt hand and toast1
I realise that my misfortunes with this toaster might relate just to the one I bought, but I would not recommend this product. I tested it three times with normal sliced bread. There are metal racks which grab the toast on either side and when the bread is placed short side first these grabbed the bread too early so that it wouldn't descend all the way. Result: burnt one half, untoasted the other half. When put in long side first you couldn't get it out because there is no extra lift.

The metal surface on the top of the toaster immediately in front of the slots got so hot that I burnt my fingers, seriously dangerous. CoolWall, but burning front!

AVOID!

Pretty poor performance1
Our toaster is 18 months old, and is now refusing to stay down when the lever is pressed. A solution which sometimes works is to switch off at the wall, while holding the lever down, then switch on again. You shouldn't need to do this of course, but overall it also sometimes burns the toast on one side & not the other, and generally, although it looks the part, I wish I'd never bought it.
