Nice toast and looks good
Well, I must be lucky but I can't fault this toaster at the moment. Had it about a month now and it fits very nicely being obviously larger than my two slice Prestige was but its a four slice toaster. It certainly isn't as big as some of the monster four slice ones I've seen.

Toast comes out nice and crisp on both sides, the variable browning is easy to manage and I don't find it takes that long to produce the toast. I also haven't noticed the outside being particularly hot but then again I don't try and pick up my toaster by the outsides after cooking toast.

It looks good too, sitting in a corner under the cupboards I get quite a nice reflection of light off the top and onto my tiles.

Not what it said!
I've been looking for a toaster that's extra wide and deep so I can toast my bread maker bread without having to flip it over half way through. When I saw this was advertised as just that, I didn't hesitate to buy it. However, it's no different than my current toaster!! I'm sure it toasts well but I didn't get that far as I sent it back - is definately not extra wide or extra deep, it's just a bulkier toaster!!

Beware of hot sides!!
I have just purchased this toaster and it looks lovely and the toast is ok, however, I bought it partly because it states that the sides stay cool, well they don't! I was quite suprised when I read that the toaster casing got hot in the manual, so when I used it I thought I'd see how hot it got, and it gets very hot!!!! I contacted Phillips and asked them what exactly "coolwall exterior" meant and have had a response telling me that the toaster will get hot so for health and safety reasons not to touch it! Quite disappointed really!
