Best LED rear light
This has got to be the brightest rear LED light you can buy, unless you're looking at silly money for things like the Dinotte 140L-AA-R taillight, which is about £80 more! The mounting system could be improved to make it easier to attach to racks, but it works okay attached to the rear stays or the seat post. A no-brainer purchase.
The one to buy
There's a lot of rear lights around but most will leak when it starts raining. This one won't as it's got a rubber seal. Amazingly you can spend £30 on a fabulous Cateye light (Like I did three times) and it won't have a rubber seal - and will last about a month before being completely destroyed by water. Seems unbelievable, but this one is far better.
It's very very bright as well thanks to probably the biggest LED i've seen on one of these lights and very light. One thing I would change is the bike attatchment - mine fell off and shattered into it's component parts when I hit a pothole, after that I (reassembled and) wedged it on with a slip of cardboard and my problems were over - maybe it could do with being slightly more rugged though as well, but then all these lights could - Cateyes whatever - they will always smash into bits when they fall on the roadway.
The other thing I'd change is I'd make it a bit bigger. it's perfectly large already, but why not? Or maybe just get two - they're quite cheap aren't they. Definately get this one though.
Is it a lighthouse? :)
If you're looking for a reasonably priced super bright rear light then go for this one. It's a great compact design with fittings for seat rack and rear stantion (also has a bag clip). The unit is rubber sealed for water protection which is a bonus on a product this price.
