Problems installing on Vista (but can be overcome)
This has a problem (but not insurmountable)installing with Vista PC's. An error message saying install interrupted comes up. The answer is to run mscng and disable all the startup options - then re-start and try again. It may also be ncessary to temporarily disable virus software/fireall (but disconnect from internet first!)
Unfortunately Roxio forgot to include this vital piece of information on the disk or in the disk box. However the information is on their web support page. Search for Creator 2010 Vista install. Don't bother trying to send a support ticket from their web site, the page has a fault making it impossible to send a support ticket. It just wipes out the information you just typed in and takes you back to the log in page! They don't make life easy. The installk information to get round this problem is there, just takes a bit of searching.
Oh yes, the box I received didn't even have a user manual so I had to download that from their site!
However apart from the installation problems on Vista, the apalling lack of setup information, non-working support submit request, persevere - it does install quicker that 2009 and looks to be an improved product.

Software freezes with Windows 7
This is a programme which, if it had worked, would have given good value for money - the interface is intuitive, there are helpful videos and well-written tutorials, and generally it looks as if it should be easy to learn and use productively. Unfortunately, even after installing the Roxio Service Pack, it basically froze when attempting to close down the application (video editing) I was working with. Although I could force a close with Windows 7, the programme would then freeze at the opening splash screen if I attempted to reopen it. In fact the only way to persuade it to open at all was by restarting Windows 7 - not easy because somehow the software has managed to corrupt the sleep and restart routines in the OS so the only way to turn off the computer was at the plug. There are other reports on the web about teething difficulties with this software and Windows 7 (and Vista too). I have arranged to return the software to Amazon (excellent returns service from them). I'd recommend either waiting for any bugs to be ironed out by Roxio, or taking advantage of Roxio's free trial period before you decide to buy. Good luck!
