Mike Bailey, Bill Indge and Martin Rowland are all experienced teachers and senior examiners. Bill Indge is a Chief Examiner. Mike Bailey wrote the bestselling textbook 'Biology AS' (Collins Advanced Modular Sciences) for the former AQA spec B, and Bill Indge and Martin Rowland were co-authors of the bestselling 'A New Introduction to Biology' for the former AQA spec A.

An exceptional title....
Having recently sat the new AS course for AQA Biology (Spec B) I can safely say that it is a vital companion to the course.

The new course requires a secure understanding of key concepts in order to apply them to new scenarios and situations. AQA Biology for AS really emphasises this skill and offers plenty of practice. 'How Science Works' is covered extensivley with plenty of in text practice questions that really get you thinking.

The dynamic learning addition also helps improve your skills, particularly in data handling. I felt anxious about this area of biology and the combination of examples in the book and explanations on the accompanying CD-Rom really helped me to improve.

Overall, if you want to understand what the examiners are looking for - buy this book, they've wrote it!

Note: The student's book does NOT come with answers to the in-text questions. This was a slight dissapointment but I'm sure Hodder will provide you with the answers if requested.
