A triumph for Paul Temple & Francis Matthews5
I watched this series when originally transmitted and don't think I missed a single one at the time! Watching these colour episodes after all these years it brings back happy memories and they have stood the test of time. Perhaps the only real difference when compared to today is that you need to listen to the dialogue more.

The stories are very varied as some are on exotic locations others home ground and studio. It is fascinating to see so many well known faces of the period acting along side Francis Matthews and Ros Drinkwater. She certainly makes some great fashion statements and he is just debonair. The picture quality is excellent and the sound clear. A must for fans of mystery and TV drama.

Welcome back to our screens Paul5
Francis Matthews in his interview wonders whether we might find this Paul Temple Collection dated. Well yes the fashion shouts 70's I guess but all those memories of eagerly anticipating the next weeks programme come flooding back as I watch the 4 DVDs. The stories, the locations, the action and particularly the main characters are still as fresh today as they were 40 years ago! This remastered collection is a must for any Paul Temple and Francis Durbridge devotee. This was truly a wonderful birthday present. Please, please someone, dig deep in the archive and find those lost episodes for release!

A must for all Paul Temple fans.5
Paul Temple [DVD]

As a great fan of the Paul Temple radio serials I had been hoping the few existing episodes of the television series would be issued and at long last here they are.

It is astounding the BBC could have lost forty one out of fifty two expensively produced episodes, a major export to Germany where Francis Durbridge was more popular than in the UK and Australia, but sadly that is the fact and we are left with the eleven episodes in this box.

The last radio serial was aired in 1968 and by then was very dated, so a major overhaul of the Temples was in order.

Fortunately the result is immediately identifiable as the characters would have been in the early 1970s.

Ros Drinkwater is a major success as Steve Temple, looking exactly as I imagined her in the radio serials (in 1950s fashions of course), and Francis Matthews is a good Paul.

The eleven episodes provide a good cross section of the series, frequently in colourful locations, well transferred to DVD.

No Paul Temple enthusiast will be disappointed.
