Manufacturer's Description
Paris Dakar Rally 2 takes the official license to the next level in this all-out arcade version of the most radical endurance rally in the world. Featuring town stages in France, Spain and Morocco and progressing onto more traditional Dakar landscapes, the game offers a unique and exciting alternative to the plethora of standard rally games. Paris Dakar Rally 2 also features unique GPS navigational levels where you must race across the open desert to reach stage checkpoints with nothing to guide you but your GPS.

dakar 25
this is a mixed review. if you want a rally game and want cars like 206 and focus get wrc 2 extreme or cmr3 but if you want a chance to race 4x4's,trucks and motorbikes then get this game. the handling of each class are very arcadey but works well in my view. the good points include racing 3 catogorys against each other. plenty of choice as their are 3 classes with about 7 4x4's 4 trucks and about 8 motorbikes.the bad points are that there is no real sense of speed and theres about 12 levels but they are varied in length. basically if you want to race fast cars on point to point tracks get wrc2 or cmr3 but if you want to try something different like racing motorbikes rally style and racing 7 tonne trucks and racing 4x4's then get this. if you are a big fan of the paris dakar rally race then get this game now!

Dakar 25
A GREAT game, lavish cars, great tracks and many different types of vehicles to choose from, which includes Cars, Bikes & TRUCKS. When you finally do unlock all the vehicles you can drive over 50 of them.

Many different tracks ranging from the great Sahara desert to the slopy, rainy, mountains of Southern France.

Many different modes from Multi-Player to Campign, it even has a time trial mode! In campaign mode you are against another 172 vehicles, so you won't find it easy unless you are a true master of gaming!

A great game if you can find it for under £20, otherwise you will be better off buying Gran Turismo.

A right little CLASSSIC of a game, a great sequel of the first Paris-Dakar Rally game.

Great gameplay but far too short4
Dakar 2 is a very playable rally game. You can rally in cars, trucks and motorbikes and each handles differently and each has (limited) set up options. The graphics are functional at worst and pleasant at best, never outstanding but never juddering or awful. The only thing that lets the game down is the fact there is only 12 stages and if you do the one player mode you'll have a finished the game in potentially one hour. A fun hour admittedly but still - its over far too quickly. Much is made of the desert stages which are vast deserts with no track and you race around with a GPS looking for checkpoints but in truth the path is relatively simple.

In short - good but go for WRC and Colin McRae if you are looking for a more lasting challenge.
