Manufacturer's Description
Downhill Domination is the first downhill mountain bike racing game for the PlayStation 2. It's an adrenaline rush of speed, fierce competition and stomach-sinking drop-offs. Win races, pull off insane aerial tricks and rack up points for equipment upgrades from real-world manufacturers. Rock your competition with punches, hip checks, homing water bottles and more! Dominate races to gain corporate sponsorships. Survive it all and you'll earn a place in the downhill championships. Racing down mountainsides at eye-watering speeds and launching off 100-foot cliffs requires a different school of thought...a different calibre of rider. Do you have what it takes?

Downhill Domination - Fantastic Fun!5
Some games have outstanding narratives, some have outstanding graphics. This has neither really. This is just pure adrenalin-fuelled fun.

Choose from 14 riders, 27 courses (3 of which are unlocked) and throw yourself down the course at full pelt, kicking and hitting fellow riders as you go, all in an attempt to get the bottom of the huge (I mean huge - each course is around 5-7 minutes in length) 'go-anywhere' course in the fastest time. That's it.

But what a rush! And mind out for the animals - rabbits aren't too much of a problem but hitting a mountain goat doesn't half bring you to a halt.

The feeling of gravity, distance and speed is perfect - never has a game given me vertigo before! The riders are based on the obvious 'dude' stereotype - the British rider has a 'soccer' ball so he must be British - and there's a fully-stocked bike shop that you can visit to upgrade your bike as you go along (cash is gained from race placings, along with combat scores and the tricks you attempt).

The music in the background is fitting with the rest of the game and doesn't get in the way too much, the characters shout at each other and everything is just presented as a colourful rush of 'extreme' sports. OK - it's nothing like it's real-life equivilent but that doesn't matter to SSX or Tony Hawks so why not here?

One minor fault is that the single-player game will only take about 15 hours to complete, but still, I keep going back to it again and again as it's so much fun. And I've yet to beat the best time for the game set by the developers - it's incredibly hard.

However, the best experience is in found the multiplayer with you having your own private battles with your mates, knocking them off their bikes just as they're about to cross the finishing line so you steal 1st place from them!

A great game - it'll never be huge but it's certainly worth buying for old-school gamer fun - it's a sleeper hit hopefully. I'd certainly recommend it!

Downhill Domination4
Hee hee, this is a wicked totally unrealistic rush of pure adrenaline. I like the real thing but I'd most definitely be dead by now if this game was for real. When you get going you really motor downwards and its always nice to throw a few punches here and there. Get this game, its pure magic!!!!! However, would like to see some more courses.

Duuuuuuuude!5
As a dowhill mountainbike enthusiast I can relate to the realsim of this game. Frequently I find myself launching from jumps into nosebleed suicide no-handers, backflips or, on a good day, chocolate swirls. As I possess an almost olympian talent for downhill mountain biking, others may find it not so realistic. Don't let that sway you, this game rocks dude!
