Customer Reviews

Do not buy this!1
I'm embarrassed that I bought this! Please don't buy it. You'd be better off going to a website or the council allotment for advice on a wormery. There is nothing in this pack, it is not worth the money at all.

Good idea; but much cheaper to DIY3
This is a great idea; my son received it for his birthday and has loved doing it (we still have 2 jars of 'pet' worms living with us 2 weeks later). BUT, it is a lot of money for very little actual kit, and you could DIY much more effectively.

INCLUDED in the kit: small bag of sand, small bag of kaolin, piece of black paper (to wrap around your jar to keep the worms in the dark), plastic magnifying glass, instructions.
NOT INCLUDED (IE you need to provide these): large glass jar(s), SOIL, worms, leaves etc, water, sellotape to attach the black paper).

Its a simple thing to set up, and your 5 year old can manage it with some help; the instructions are clear and there is some educational info, but I would not buy it as a gift for anyone else - they need to supply too much additional stuff and essentially you're giving them a bag of sand in a pretty box!
