second times a charm
Another briliantly crafted masterclass in storywriting from Tom Barber. Readers may be familiar with Tom from his first book, Open Wide however this somphomore effort is even better than the first, intelligently written with brilliant, colourfull pictures with a tale that leaves the reader felling warm inside. I can whole-heartedly inform you that you wont regret buying this book.
Beautifully Illustrated Story of Friendship Across Borders
This is a beautifully illustrated childrens book and a fun story which revolves around 2 neighbouring farmers fruitless efforts to keep their respective pet goats Myrtle and Muriel from taking food from each others fields.
It is very funny while also being a very intelligent story to get children thinking about sharing and friendship. The increasingly irrational behaviour of the farmers trying defend their borders and the increasingly inventive solutions of the goats are hilarious. After making fortifications on the scale of the Berlin Wall the farmers achieve their goal to the detriment of everyone but there is a happy ending as the wall suffers the same fate as it's Berlin counterpart.
Highly Recommended.
The wisdom of goats over men
Truly delightful and cleverly crafted, you'll be hooked to the last page, never mind the kids (oops no pun intended!) For the stupidity of the farmers one can find many parallels in modern life, but at least they love their goats and love always wins, at least, it does in this great book.
Buy it, you'll love it.
