Very well written, heart-wrenching tale...
This is the story of a storybook relationship between a very wealthy man and his wife -- storybook is just what it is, since behind the doors of their opulent home lies spousal abuse.

This book was well written and I learned to care about the characters enough to read it over a two day period (not an easy thing to do in this busy life) -- though it did take the main character a little too long to reach the inevitable conclusion.


Still, Belva Plain is one of the great story tellers of our time and this book, therefore has earned a spot on my bookshelf, to stay
