Product Description

These twelve circular routes, which incorporate the county's most stunning scenery, are for walkers who like drama, amazing views and a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
Taking in some of Devon's most beautiful landscapes, this book is primarily aimed at those who don't mind putting a little effort into their day's walking. However, options on shorter or easier routes are given where practical for those who prefer less of a challenge.
Encompassing the best of what Devon has to offer, this book introduces the walker to glorious coastline, expansive moorland and deep gorges, as well as gentle, picturesque river valleys and idyllic villages.
More than just a walking guide, each route includes details of local watering holes for refreshment, places to stay and nearby places of interest. Historic notes, authors' tips and pointers on natural history are also included.
A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Devon will also appeal to photographers who are sure to find plenty of subject matter along these fabulous routes.
The exceptional photography which accompanies each walk tempts the reader to venture out and share the authors' love of Devon's great outdoors.

About the Author
Both authors have lived for many years in the West Country and are experienced walkers. Simone Stanbrook-Byrne's first walking guide, in 2000, was well-received. She has now teamed up with fellow walker and photographer, James Clancy, to produce more extensive guides to the South West.
