Editorial Reviews
Driving Instructor Magazine, April/May 2007
'Finally a book for learners has arrived on the desk that successfully does what is says on the tin. It contains great advice and information and makes useful revision for students wishing to recap on everything learnt in the car with their ADI.'
Waterstones, February 2007
'This, unlike other driving skills books where you have to wade through information, is easy and quick to read. Atwell knows how nerve wracking driving can be, and offers great tips on how to calm your nerves. This is a great book for last minute revision of practical skills too.'
Synopsis
This is the book learner drivers have been praying for. Jam-packed with everything you really wanted to know about the test and driving in general but never got to ask.
Customer Reviews
Something to take the mystery out of the driving test
As the author states this book will not teach you to drive, that's what your driving instructor is for - but it certainly is full of helpful hints and tips written in an easy going, down to earth chatty language that will appeal to most.
I found the myth fact or fiction sections particularly helpful as with most exams and especially the driving test urban legends are formed and sometimes you don't know what to believe. This book goes about taking the mystery out of the driving test.
At first glance the book appears a bit skinny, but that is part of it's charm. It's not a massive text book or instruction manual, you can easily shove it in your pocket or handbag and read it on the bus (hopefully for not much longer) without even having to read it in a particular order - I skipped about the book, much like I do when reading a magazine. It's also brilliant for anyone who has text-book phobia as it's snappy and to the point and dare I say it even a little bit amusing in places.
Definitely a useful little book that doesn't take any effort to read. Good Luck with your test!
At Last.............
At last, a driving instruction book in language that explains sequences and procedures using a common sense approach. This is a very positive, upbeat, easy to read book. Many myths and mysteries are dispelled and it is full of easy to remember hints and tips. Although aimed at new drivers, it contains some very helpful tips for the more experienced driver too.
This book is not just for Sons, Daughters, or New Drivers. We can all learn from this little gem of a publication.
The final step
This book is the perfect aid to learner drivers who need that final push to get them ready for a test. It fills in the gaps and, as Denise would say, irons out the 'fluffy bits'. Denise writes in a straightforward manner and suggests some really helpful methods of transforming from the perennial learner into someone who feels like they are ready to drive for life.
There is no mumbo jumbo just honest no nonsense advice which helps put your driving test into persepctive and prepares you for the big day, I would definitely recommend the book to anyone who needs help cutting out the standard learner mistakes
A handy pocket book that won't take long to read but could be the thing that helps you pass the test
