‘There is an epidemic of insecurity in our society today. Many people are insecure and feel bad about themselves, which steals their joy and causes major problems in all their relationships.’
‘The good news is that there is a cure for the approval addiction!’
Approval Addiction asks why so many of us have an overwhelming need for acceptance from the wider world – and provides the key to breaking free from this addiction.
Joyce Meyer’s groundbreaking book:
· Demonstrates that you can accept who you are
· Identifies the cause of our addictive need for approval
· Helps you to be released from the chains of past
· Guides you through steps to break the pattern for the future
Joyce writes from raw, personal knowledge of how insecurity and low self-esteem – stemming in her case from damaging childhood experiences – can leave us feeling constantly frustrated and lacking real peace or joy. It was through embracing the knowledge that she is unconditionally loved by God that she found inner security and the power to live her life to her full potential.

This book may change your life for good
I was bought this book for mother's day by my husband - Approval addiction I thought? No, I don't have one of those. But hey, because I didn't want to upset him (approval addict that I actually am) I read it. Wow, this book is great. I realised that for ages I have been living in fear, when I should be living in freedom.
If you live your life trying to please other people - you need ot read this book. It tells you all about the only One you need to please - and contrary to secular teachings - it isn't yourself!
Excellent
I had never heard of Joyce Meyer before this book, but I am glad I found her now and have shared this book with many of my friends (Christian and non Christian alike)Not found anyone who didn't like it - all said it was good to have "life" examples rather than just theory, the non Christians thought it was a good insight into what Christians believe. All have recognised someone they know in the pages of this book in addition to some of their own personal traits and have found it changed their life in some way. I can see why the word "addiction" is in the title but don't be put off by it
A confused message
There is potentially a lot of good stuff in this book but unfortunately it is lost amidst a full-on personal religious dogmatical crusade. I am not an agnostic person by this was too much for me. The core asumption that all personal security relates to living a devout Christian life and relating our sense of duty to what the (unquestioned) scriptures tell us. But there is some potentially useful pop-pyschology here if you are prepared to endure the rest to find it.
