A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation starring John Moffatt as the great Belgian detective. Hercule Poirot and his good friend Captain Hastings are enjoying a well-deserved break on the Cornish Riviera, in the idyllic village of St Loo. Wandering along the terrace of the Hotel Majestic on the first morning of their stay, Poirot literally falls at the feet of a pretty, dark-haired girl and, much to Hastings delight, insists that she join them for a cocktail. The girl is Nick Buckley, last in a long line of Buckleys to live at End House, an isolated old place perched on the end of a rocky outcrop. As she reassures the two friends that living there is more fun than it might seem, Poirot s ears prick up she is having fun, Nick says, despite the fact that she has had three near-fatal accidents in the past few days. To Poirot, that adds up to more than coincidence. And when Nick jerks away from a bee flying past that turns out to be a bullet, the Belgian knows there is work ahead for the little grey cells. The perpetrator of these accidents may well be endlessly inventive and diabolically clever, but is he a match for the meticulous M. Poirot?

Customer Reviews
A gripping and tantalizing chnace for sleuthing.
Whilst taking a relaxing retirement holiday Poirot and Hastings become embroiled in a series of freak accidents where a murderer dares to fire a shot right under Poirot's nose. Totally bewildered by the disturbing happenings at End House Poirot is persuaded to come out of retirement and investigate the mysterious collection of persons both present and missing from the scene. No sooner than he is on the case the murderer finally succeeds in their mission - or do they? Tricks and lies make this a most baffling murder for the great detective to solve. With its twists and turns this plot will have you glued to each chapter.
Brilliant
When we were told in English to read an Agatha Christie Book, we all groaned. But the book turned out to be one of the best I've EVER read.
The plot twists and turns and leads you to your final conclusion...... to find that it's wrong!
Are all of Mrs Christies Books like this?
I certainly hope so!
A nice murder
This is everything you could want from an Agatha Christie. A gripping story that you really can't guess the ending of.
Its 2,15 hrs so a good length for long car journeys.
We're not used to John Moffatt as Poirot but he's very good.
