Customer Reviews
the funniest children's stories ever published
My family are all crazy about Horrid Henry. The tapes made us laugh so hard last year on holiday that we crashed our car! This woman is a genius. Every aspect about sibling rivalry is dramatised: the wit is crystal clear to anyone of four and above. HH's fiendish plots to outwit his goody-goody brother Perfect Peter are sublime. My 5 year old adores them so much he couldn't wait to start reading because of them. I also recommend Helping Hercules, a hilarious time-travel tale about a stroppy girl who helps various mythological characters. We can't wait for the next.
as a mother, horrid henry lives in all children (& adults)
as a mother of a 9 year old and a 6 year old, its refreshing to know that children real and fictional have the same endearing qualities! Horrid Henry has been a firm favourite in our household (for children and parents alike) for several years!
Another great Henry story
As a children's writer myself I love to read good children's books and Francesca Simon is excellent. For anyone that's read other Horrid Henry stories, they won't be disappointed with this one. This Horrid Henry story has the same great pace, use of snappy dialogue and the characters that children and parents have all grown to love.
In this story we're treated to some gems including Henry being banned for life from the supermarket and a visit to the 'shark infested' swimming pool! If it's your first Horrid Henry book you'll want to read more.
