Product Description

This amazing figure converts from monster truck into Optimus Prime. He measures 10" when transformed and 12" tall when mounted on the supplied base. He also comes with a load of weaponry and he speaks classic phrases from the Transformers movie and has light-up features.

Classics 20th Movie Optimus Prime2
Not hugely impressed with the Prime I received today, he almost feels like he has been played with before. A lot of joints seem too loose, most notably his wrist, front wheel joint, and his foot (corresponding joints much tighter etc). Bits keep falling off him when the slightest transform is performed, perticularly his head; luckily they have been designed for 'popping out' during rougher play, but the level of sensitivity this Prime has is ridiculous. Pulling his legs apart is a mammoth task; the sprocket jams into the connector and is EXTREMELY difficult to separate without attempting to rip Prime apart.

On the plus side, he looks very good both as a semi-truck, and as a robot. The detail on his body is a great touch (movable pistons, air vents etc). His supplied weaponry was decent-looking (apart from the dodgy colour scheme), but thats as far as it gets. The rifle feels very brittle, and the pistol, flimsy.

On the whole, Optimus is just too.......well, loose. He is something to keep in the box, at the very least do not transform him more than ten or twenty times :P

a beautiful thing that isnt a toy4
so i admit i bought this because i need a 12 inch prime to stand by the 12 inch megatron i bought.

its beautiful to look at, pretty poseable if you want to do that kind of thing.

rather clumsy to transform into vehicle mode, magnetic locking device frustrating, personally if want a vehicle mode prime, i would probs buy another one, transforming it isnt fun, terrified of scratching it.

in short, if like me you are twentysomething, can spare the cash for it, go for it, it looks amazing.

Optimus, the greatest robot of all!5
The most detailed version of Optimus ever, has actually been available in three different formats, Masterpiece Prime, 20th Anniversary Prime (minus the sound stand, with black gun and extra battle damage) and this design. While my personal favourite is Optimus with battle damage, essentially this is the same model. Firstly, the negatives - the stand sounds, as mentioned by other reviewers, aren't really that great or really necessary. That's about it for the negatives. Positives? It's freaking awesome! It's a giant Optimus Prime! Okay, a minor gripe is the colour of his gun in this version, it looks better in black. But otherwise, this really is incredible. His main chest and his legs are metal, he is fully posable with brilliant touches, like tiny computer screens that flip up out of his arms, he feels very weighty and well made and ultimatley he's a 12 inch robot. What more could you want?! The Energon Axe is a lovely addition too, Prime looks incredible paired up with Masterpiece Megatron.

To summarise, this is a fantastic reproduction of G1 Prime that looks and feels stunning. A worthy addition to anyones collection of random tack and a must-buy for G1 Transformer fans.
