"Gormiti is a collectable assortment of hero action figures, trading cards and playsets with each character belonging to a tribe linked to an element of nature. The five tribes of Earth, Sea, Air, Forest (the goodies!) and Volcano (the baddies) each have their own personality, magical powers, individual story and physical size. As well as collecting all the characters there is strategic game play. Each figure has a unique power value printed under its foot, numbered 1-9, each trading card has its own power strength. The player with the highest combination between figure and card is the winner. There are hundreds of combinations to be had.

Don't they always love the cheap looking expensive playsets!
bought this for my gormiti mad son, he loves it but to an adult its flimsy, very cheap plastic and not worth the money. The board is good but unless you have the forest and volcano playset to use instead of the ultra shoddy sets it comes with then it really does look cheap and nasty
But that all said, my son loves it,.........

This toy has given my son hours of fun, part of the Gormitit collection, the island is the basis of the story. You would need to read the story to understand how's how's, and what they really are about. And the fact that this is not actually a play set, but a very large board game!! Which required some assembly - no instructions included, and alot of room!!!The basic sets are supplied (thin plastic & cardboard!!)and additional sets can be bought seperatly to enhance the set, ie eagle peak, which are of better quality and have hidden themes. The figures which can be bought seperatly are required also. There is also a new animated series coming out, we received a free dvd of an episode when buying the island, however this is not available with all sets. They have now bought out some larger figures of S1 characters, and series2 with 35 new characters, with additional sizes and some magnetix ones and new additions to the island set. There is now a Gormiti website, which tells you the story each figure, it should allow you to swap but as yet dose not!!

Poor quality, other Gormiti play sets much better!
My 6 year old is crazy about Gormiti and wanted this play set for Christmas. In Italy I paid (in a regular toy store), 49 Euro, so I hoped it was of decent quality, but, it was a major disappointment. The size of the playset is great, cudos there, but the structures are made of flimsy plastic that could have easily been made sturdier, OR have been painted to provide some more detail. The clear plastic piece that is supposed to be some sort of structure is so flimsy I literally just threw it in the garbage. The tree hut made of cardboard would not stay togeter, or in place, so that got tossed aside, never used. My son plays with this toy now and again, not often, but he returns more often to the Gormiti individual playset (cave/cavern) which we have as well. I have seen a volcano and forest playset and the quality is excellent for the money. My strong advice would be to invest in one or more of those rather than this.
