Small Print
This Atlas is better than the 2002 AA Road Atlas I purchased. However I Hadn't realised that the print is smaller than the 2002 Atlas, thereby the Routes Namesplaces etc are smaller. Had I known this ( and it wasn't mentioned in the preview details ) I would have purchased a different Atlas. Having said that. This is a better quality Atlas and will handle well in wet weathers.

Is This The Best Road Atlas?
If weight is anything to go by, then this atlas has lots to offer.

Cons; The only down side I can find is the cover. Given that the atlas weighs a bit and is likely to get moved around the car a lot, a plastic cover would protect the pages better.

Pros; Comprehensive and one of the good features is the map overlap so that when you turn the page you can see where you left off, no more flipping back and forth. The locale is also given at the top of the page. Minor roads are included and in Scotland, indication that they are single track. There are spot heights to help identify hilly terrain features.

It has a SatNav postcode section which is handy for finding tourist locations.

The maps, town plans and gazetteers are up to date and in an age where everything is going electronic, it is still the best option for route finding.

Road Atlas
A good manageable size overall for use in a car as the pages fold back on themselves. The maps are large enough in scale to give good clear detail without being too large that the page would only cover a small area. The information on the pages makes it easy to see what attractions/places of interest there are in the area around the destination to which you are travelling.
