Product Description

A volume offering ideas for classroom activities for children aged six and up. It is geared towards gifted and talented children, but other children should benefit from the activities too. The activities cover many types of creative and critical thinking skills that should enable all children to develop their cognitive processes. The work that the children produce should be extremely different because the activities allow room for creativity and open-ended answers. Some of the activities can be stretched out for days, or the Brainteaser section can be used for a quick warm-up to spark interest. The author seeks to encourage children to think on six levels: knowledge; comprehension; application; analysis; synthesis; and evaluation.

it does exactly what it says on the tin5
This was worth every penny. I have been using it since it arrived and not just for G&T it is accessible by others too. I have been impressed by the variety of activities and the way they are structured, it gives G&T children a chance to carry out independent activities without it being an onerous task for the teacher. I hope they bring out volume 2 and 3 and 4....

brilliant activities for younger children3
this is a good book. however, it is more suitable for teachers of younger children - I bought this thinking it would be appropriate for children of lower secondary school and it is not.
great for primary school, but doesn't really address what i need it for.

Good book for boys5
My boys are not always inclined to sit still and study but this book makes thinking and learning more fun. The Brainteasers section at the begining is very good. The rest of the exercises can be used as written exercises in a more structured learning environment than the home but we use them verbally to spark discussion or to keep our family focussed on constructive interaction rather than squabbling.
