About the Author
Chris Bass has been Editor of the Mercedes-Benz (MB) Club Gazette since 1997. In that time he has handled many restoration stories and articles about the Pagoda SL, which is one of the most popular models amongst the 10,000-plus members of the MB Club. Notable amongst these articles were those written by the late Roger Edwards, a club member and a leading authority on these cars who contributed his expertise to the production of this book. As well as running a Mercedes of his own, Chris has restored and runs an Allard and a Triumph TR4A. His garage also includes a 1930 Crossley Silver and a Triumph Herald convertible.

The Essential Buyers Guide - Mercedes Pagoda cars
I found this a most informative book and indeed Essential for those thinking about buying a Pagoda. It contains much detail and vital information. I remember driving several in the 1960's but then unable to afford one. Now having read this book I know that the only type to have will need to have been restored by the previous owner. They are complex and thus expensive to restore. Much is hidden from a casual inspection. The good ones are expensive (too expensive for me that is), those in the middle £20,000's would cost much more to bring them upto standard.
I am glad that I bought the book for I might have bought the best car I could afford, and that may not have been good enough. I would recommend that anyone with interest in these cars should buy this book. The information is most valuable; the cost of the book is very cheap. Clearly a good deal.
My congratulations to the author
