The new PENTAX Optio T30 realizes a slim body while being equipped with a large 3.0-inch LCD monitor that enables for easy viewing. The Optio T30 comes with new functions such as shake reduction which reduces camera shake and subject blurring, and "Face Recognition AF & AE" which is convenient when photographing people. The Optio T30 is equipped with a high-resolution, oversized 3.0-inch LCD monitor with approximately 230,000 pixels that enables images and menu text to be displayed largely and clearly. The monitor also has a wide viewing angle of approximately 170° from all directions, making it easy to confirm images, even when looking at the monitor diagonally. Digital Shake Reduction Function A mode that reduces camera shakes and blurring of the subject when photographing still images. The sensitivity is adjusted automatically, to as high as the ultrahigh sensitivity of ISO 3200, to match the brightness of the subject. This enables for photography with fast shutter speeds, and images with less blurs can be obtained. Movie SR (Shake Reduction) An electronic shake reduction function exclusively for capturing movies, which effectively corrects distortions in images due to camera shakes through software. The Optio T30 is equipped with a ?Face Recognition AF & AE? function (available when the photography mode is "Portrait") that automatically detects and focuses on faces, regardless of where the people appear in the photo frame. In addition, optimal exposure settings are automatically conducted so that the areas with faces are not darkened even if there is backlighting. By using a new type of battery that is thin and high-performance, as well as adopting the "sliding lens system" which is a lens mechanism unique to PENTAX, the Optio T30 realizes one of the smallest and lightest compact body in the class of models equipped with a large, 3.0-inch LCD monitor and 3X optical zoom. just purchased this camera today and i have to say from what i have seen so far it is dead easy to use.
the pictures are clear and there are loads of different settings for pictures such as a pet setting that stops the glare from cats eyes, and a portrait setting that evens out skintones.
great camera at a decent price.
