A must for every aspiring gundog owner
This book is the finest of it's kind. Peter Moxon, sadly now deceased, was at the forfront of gundog training for years and most, if not all, of today's trainers base their idea's on his philosophy. The photograph's are dated but the content is sound.

A first rate guide for the amateur
Moxon's approach to training is guided by a commendably sympathetic approach to the handling of his subjects. The minutae of training a gundog is covered thoroughly, although, for the amateur, more detail could be given on how to overcome common difficulties. There are a few ommissions, such as how to train spaniels to quarter in different wind directions. But overall, this is a thoroughly informative book.

A great introduction to gundog training!
A fantastic book for all those entering the wonderful field of training gundogs! It covers everything from breed descriptions to housing and feeding your dog. All the basics are covered systematically from basic training to advanced level, for each type of gundog (retriever, spaniel or pointer/setter). It is written in a lovely style, holding your interest to read chapters that may not even be relevant to your breed! Full of fabulous anecdotes of his own dogs, PRA Moxon's book is a definite must-have!
