What More Could You Ask For
This gadget is a must have!! The transfer time for movies and music is very fast, Movies can also be changed to the correct format with the software that comes with the Zen if the one you have is not supported, The Quality of picture when playing movies is unbelieveable and the screen is a perfect size with options to strech the display to fit the screen. The built in speaker gives great sound when paying music if you dont want to plug in the headphones. the slideshow option for the pictures allows the music of your choice to be played. The Av out opition is great for watching movies or picture slideshows on a tv if the 4 1/2 inch screen isnt big enough for you and the battery lasts for ages. The only dowside I feel is the buttons are a bit on the small side so you can press the wrong one by accident but thats not too bad considering the plus points.

Excellent must have gadget
Great music and video player, software is also good and easy to use. It is a nice quality unit that feels well made. The radio is not so good but then I did not buy if for the radio (it might be I live in a poor radio reception area. What is great is you can have every CD you own on it plus I have 12,000 pictures about 20 good video clips and I have only half filled it. The instructions are not so good thinking about it but then who reads instructions..........

Creative Zen W, 60 gb
This is a great machine without a doubt. The storage capacity is enormous and the ease of access through the menu excellent. The removable Li-ion battery is a boon when it comes time (5 years?) to replace it. You listening, Apple?

There are some negatives though. The FM radio is next to useless, regardless of the signal strength. The audio recording through the built in mic is just feeble - only of use for note taking. But the saddest thing is that the .wmv movies are never really smooth, and this is especially noticeable in zooms and pans - they jerk and jump.

Picture quality is fine, lovely and sharp and great colours. The audio can be a bit bass light but for such compression it's ok. The volume available is great, and from such a tiny speaker too.

I really like the Zen W - but I do wish its encoding (from our 25 fps to 30 fps) was smoother. I've tried all the conversion programs I can find, and there's no way round it. If you're just a stills man then all's well, and I have the card adapter that allows all flash memory cards to be fed directly into it. Great for backup on a photo shoot.

The HDD makes odd noises and I'm pretty sure the next generation will be solid state. But until then, I'm impressed.
