Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell:
Tiger Woods returns and in better form than his recent Ryder Cup letdown, with a whole host of refinements and additions (and the odd subtraction) to the winning PGA Tour formula.
The lowdown:
The problem with updating a golf game every year is that, unlike most other sports, nothing much changes in terms of players or courses. Despite that, this update tries its best with new courses, new golfers, an expanded online mode and an even better create-a-golfer mode. The only downside to all this is that the main "Rivals" single player mode from last year’s game has gone, replaced with the inferior "Team Tour" mode. It doesn’t affect the selection of other modes though, including new options "Elimination" and "OneBall" and the four player "Bloodsome and Greensome". It may not reinvent the wheel but it does at least add some very welcome decoration to it - and thankfully not in the style of most golf clothing.
Most exciting moment:
The best bit about PGA Tour is still its simple and accessible controls. There are two main controls, the first uses the left analogue stick to swing and set the power and the right aims where you hit the ball. The alternative control places the hook and slice on the right stick, if that’s how you prefer it.
Since you ask:
The Xbox 360 version of the game became infamous as the first game to allow you to unlock the extra features by paying money via micro-transactions on Xbox Live Marketplace. You can, however, still unlock them the honest way on all the different versions.
The bottom line:
A minor update to the world’s favourite golf game. -HARRISON DENT

Customer Reviews
Good but sometimes annoying...
I got this game free with my PS3 and thank goodness i didn't actually PAY for it.
The game engine is a s good as ever, the controls are as good as the other TW games and the TW series is STILL head and shoulders above every over golf game on release.
However the small annoying little faults in the game are so frustrating:
1. When the ball is flying to the green but hits an unsuspecting crowd member and lands in the rough.
2. The catch-up logic on the PGA tour over the four days is sooooo unrealistic. i.e. on the first day of the four, I hit an amazing 59, 14 shots clear of the field (me being 13 under the closest contender being +1). But on the next day the catch-up logic kicks in and around 8 or 9 players all score 57's and 58's on the harder second day. So when I shut the machine off without saving and go back and simulate the two rounds the leader comes out with a score of +4. It's soooooo bad. Catch-up logic was popular in the 80's, it's 2008 already!!!
The Catch-up logic is so bad that it's better to play very conservatively for the first three days (purposely missing eagle putts etc.) and then blow the competition away on the last day.
Other than than that it's a good TW game.
great,but............
When I got this game I did not know what to expect having not owened a golf game before but I was hoping for a good game and I what got was a good game. But the thing is the games are sooooo long.If you are golf fan buy it,if not don't.
A most disappointing arival for 2007
Thankfully i bought my copy of 2007 at the sale price of £16.49 and i couldnot wait to get it home to try and compare it against the benchmark of Tiger Woods 2003.
Disappointment is puting it mildly, possibly i may have purchased a bad disc because the graphics are fussy and the gameplay poor.
In only my second tournament on the front nine i scored two holes in one something that is almost impossible on the 2003 version.
The gameplay is akin to my original sega megadrive PGA golf obviously with slightly better graphics.I may be nitpicking a bit but if you have TW 2003 compare both games im convinced you will see the difference.
You are given an array of different golfing senarios to complete but im sorry to say my visual experience made me install my 2003 disc instead and my 2007 will be returned to its rightfull owner the shop from whence it came.
If this is the best EA Sports can come up with then all i can say is that their design team failed to return from their tea break.
Pebble Beach,St Andrews, and Sawgrass are still here in 2007 thats poor value when you consider this game retails for over £30 at current price.
If you really want to see the Tiger Woods series at its very best and you own a decent computer buy it on the PC version.TW2005 on PC has graphics to die for,a few less courses i grant you but atleast you can feel you have spent wisely unlike with the Play Station 2007 version.
My moto is borrow 2007 first from some other dissappointed person and if you are coming to this Tiger Woods Golf Game for the very first time invest in 2003 because you are guaranteed excellent fun there and not at 2007.
