Useful basic reference, though woefully out of date
In such a fast paced arena as the Anti-Virus industry books rapidly become out of date.

This book not only covers an out of date version of McAfee anti-virus but also doesn't cover the vast amount of new virus types that have sprung up over recent years.

For a beginner trying to learn about Viruses the book is of limited value since it does not give the reader a valid picture of the Virus situation as it is at the moment, however it does have some small value as a background reference book since it covers older types of viruses quite well
