Bought one of these and a R-Hobbs, at about £2 more, for another place.

The Prestige is far inferior, it leaks more when coffee is taken during filtering, it over-heats the coffee and makes it bitter on long standing and to cap it all after three months the lid fell off the jug and couldn't be repaired. Very flimsy construction.

I thought that I would 'soldier on' with the topless lid, but the coffee is then too cold.

Solution: another R-Hobbs has been ordered from John Lewis - it was unavailable from Amazon. For about £2 or £3 difference there is no contest!

Sometimes you get MORE than what you pay for!!
With my fingers crossed and, bearing in mind there were more good reviews than bad for this coffee maker, I ordered one. Since I received it,nearly a month ago, I have used it every day and, more often than not, I have had it on all day long. YES, it is cheap, YES, it delivers lovely coffee, NO I don't need any paper filters with it, YES it keeps the coffee hot - all day long! - YES, it's easy to clean, and YES I love it!
One complaint ......... I'm getting through too many packets of filter coffee and my purse is moaning!

Great user friendly coffee maker.
This product gets all the ticks from me. In my opinion it is stylish, so there is no need to hide it away in a cupboard, easy to clean and makes a great cup of coffee. It has'nt spilt yet for me when pouring,which is a good sign, not like some i have had in the past. Because I only drink coffee, a good all round maker means a lot to me.
Yes, this one gets a thumbs up! The only little fault, if there is one, is that the lid does not detach from the jug, which i surpose has it's good points and bad.
