Synopsis
The 2009 edition of Stanley Gibbons' famous all colour checklist lists every British stamp from the Penny Black to the end of 2008, with all commemorative designs illustrated for ease of use. The scope also includes first day covers, presentation packs, year packs and year books - as well as Philatelic Numismatic and Philatelic Medallic covers produced by Royal Mail in association with the Royal Mint. Prices have been reviewed since the last edition with a number of significant increases to both early issues and to recent commemoratives, as demand for Great Britain stamps shows no signs of slackening. The 11-page commemorative design index has also been updated, allowing collectors to look up any stamp quickly and easily. The new "Collect British Stamps" will be high on the Christmas present list for any Great Britain collector, from specialist to beginner, and at GBP 9.95 represents really exceptional value for money.

A Good Guide to British Stamps
As always, this guide is clearly laid out, and shows pictures of most of the issues since 1840. The only downside is that the values generally tend to be over inflated, and the stamps can be bought much cheaper at other locations. Overall, it's a good reference guide, and gives a rough indication of prices.
SG "Collect British Stamps"
Brilliant!!! Very easy to understand and reference against. Good Pics of the stamps and a check box to keep track of your GB collection. Info on water marks, perfs, phosphur paper and bands, issue dates etc. A very worth while purchase for pro/new collectors alike.

Collect British Stamps 2009
A small soft backed reference book (handy for carrying when you are attending stamp fairs or keeping by the side of your computer) which is a must have for the fairly serious stamp collector of British stamps. An informative well illustrated guide however as with all book guides re: price values - most are over the top as what you can actually achieve on the market.
