Product Description

THE FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS cast make the transition from Emmy Award-Winning comedy show to feature film in this spoof Horror reminiscent of Kiwi legend Peter Jackson's work. A SUPERNATURAL FORCE brings together 2 lost souls united by their love of literature, who after a sinister twist of fate are diagnosed with terminal cancer and the pair are sent to an experimental drug-testing facility run by a creepy Doctor (FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS' BRET MCKENZIE). WHEN THE FACILITY IS LOCKED DOWN for the weekend and the drugs begin to take effect, the human guinea pigs begin to experience ominous hallucinations pointing to a horrific murder. Unsure of where reality stops and the drugs have taken hold, the apparitions become more threatening and the only way to leave the facility alive is to discover the truth about the haunting dark secret.

laughing one min, screaming the next4
This is a great film, which is a perfect blend of 2 genres. Unlike other spoof horrors, this film genuinely has the feel of a horror film, and is scary in parts, yet at the same time manages to encorperate many hilarious moments. Look out for the small details which really add to the comedy (my particular favorite being an extras reaction to the chocolate biscuits), aswell as the more obvious humour of the doctor who has to deliver the news to lead character that he has cancer (who would have thought that could be made funny?!)
The film also has hearwarming moments, often seen more in rom-coms, yet in a very different circumstance than would be seen in your usual romantic film!
I highly reccomend this film, it's entertaining throughout and won't dissapoint!

!!HILARIOUS!!5
Diagnosis: Death is amazing, if you're a fan of FOTC it's sure not to disappoint. I'm a huge Bret fan and he plays the creepy doctor role perfectly. Obviously the Flight of the Conchords crew do feature film just as well as TV, a must watch...

Flight of the Conchords are barely even in this film...1
Bought this DVD hoping for some FotC fun, was absolutely gutted to see that Jermaine and Rhys have 1 scene each (easily the best two scenes in the whole film) and while Bret is dotted throughout the 80 minutes, he's merely a support character who plays a really poorly scripted version of his FotC persona.

All could be forgiven if there was a decent film underneath the lies on the box, but there's isn't. It takes itself too seriously to be considered a spoof, all the jokes are forced and poorly delivered, there are some shocks, but any that contain any interaction with the main characters are ruined by some truly terrible acting by the main cast.

Hard to recommend this to anyone unless you want it purely for the "hey have you seen this terrible film the Flight of the Conchords cast are briefly in" value.
