With iPhoto '09, Apple's popular photo organizer and editing program is better than ever. But, intuitive as it may be, iPhoto still has the power to confuse anyone who uses it. That's why more people rely on our Missing Manual than any other iPhoto resource. You'll find step-by-step instructions, along with many undocumented tips and tricks. With "iPhoto '09: The Missing Manual", you will: get a course in picture-taking and digital cameras - how to buy and use a digital camera, how to compose brilliant photos in various situations; import, organize, and file your photos - and learn how to search and edit them; create slideshows, photo books, calendars, and greeting cards, and either make or order prints; share photos on websites or by email, and turn photos into screensavers or desktop pictures; and learn to manage your Photo Libraries, use plug-ins, and get photos to and from camera phones. There's much more in this comprehensive guide. Discover today why "iPhoto '09: The Missing Manual" is the top-selling iPhoto book.

Customer Reviews
Not quite as advertised
I bought this book having had a chance to look at the 08 version. Unfortunately this version no longer contains the photography advice. It's currently still mentioned in the description. I am guessing that the description of the 08 book was simply recycled.
That said, although the part on taking pictures is missing, it is a very thorough guide to iPhoto 09. It covers in detail the different ways you can sort and edit your photos, and how you can leverage that work and show it off to your friends and family. IPhoto has a lot of options that you might not even look for unless you know they are there.
If you don't need quite such an in-depth guide, you might be better off with David Pogue's Digital Photography: The Missing Manual, which gives a good overview of iPhoto alongside the photography advice.
iPhoto the missing manual Revisited
I own quite a few Missing Manuals (most for the iLife series) so I wondered whether I should buy another one when I bought iLife9 .
Well I am really glad I did buy the iPhoto'09 Missing Manual. It is in color now and that makes all the difference. The writing is still
nice and easy to read, the illustrations are just a pleasure to see, the book is a joy to hold and I am learning quite a few new things
(Events, Faces, Places) even though I am a user of iPhoto since it became available for OS X.
