A virus-protection book that tends to go with the media hype
Virus Proof is a book about protecting yourself from computer viruses and it mentions the different types of viruses that exists; macro viruses, boot block viruses and so on, and several ways to protect against these viruses. For a beginner this book may be good, but for people who's been using computers for a while there's few new things to learn.
The book tends to be a bit inspired by the media picture of virus makers and hackers (calling virus makers "hackers" instead of just virus makers). It also has some faults in some places, like mixing up the meanings of the terms "cracker" and "hacker".
It's also very Microsoft-centered and it doesn't cover any other platforms than Windows, except for general advice, barely mentioning the names of other platforms.
All in all an okay book for beginners who are using Windows only, but nothing more.
