Customer Reviews
Great Video game DVD for everyone.
I found this dvd in a store and thought i would give it a shot, being a collector of vintage video games. I was at first put off when i read on the cover that tony hawk was hosting, but to my suprise he does a good job. It is a detailed look back through the history of video games, rise and fall of companies, andvancement in technology, social impact and much more. I had read a great book called "ultimate history of video games" that went in depth into the subject, and was glad to finaly find a good dvd on the subject as well. The dvd is very entertaining even my 60 year old father (not a gamer) enjoyed watching it. Recomended for all.
Pretty good, touches nearly all the bases
Good 90 minute documentary. Lots of talking heads (no John Carmack though). Also, completely US-centric except for a mention of Populace and Tetris, no mention of Elite, UK based micros etc. Actually a good intro to the history of the video game industry up to 2002ish.
