Customer Reviews

Excellent advice for children who hardly eat.5
He uses a behavioral approach to getting children to eat. After medical problems have been diagnosed and treated, the author shares many case studies on how to get kids to eat. I have a child with autism, and his advice works!

The proof of the pudding...4
Perhaps the most important lesson this book teaches is that you need to look to your own behaviour when analysing the behaviour of your kids. This applies equally to feeding patterns as well as all other areas of life and it is a point well made in a slightly intellectual, but nevertheless absorbing book. The case studies are fascinating and really help to break up the heavier sections. But the bottom line is that the methods really do work. 'The proof of the pudding...' as they say!

Aimed at the professional2
I think it is important to realise that this book seems to have been written primarily for the professional. The author writes at great length about how he interviews the children for example. I found this rather irritating from my perspective as a parent who simply wanted to glean anything from this book. You really do have to plough your way through the book and yes, you do find some very good ideas dotted around. Not a very readable book either, rather it seems to have been written as an academic exercise.
