Words & Actions for 73 favourite, children's rhymes & songs
This book contains 73 action song/rhymes and is ideal for getting to know ALL the words to those old favourites. At the back are "Notes about the Rhymes" - it explains or pictures what the actions are for the rhymes contained in the book. I am pleased that these notes are separate as they then don't detract from the illustrations. It also has an index of first lines for easy reference. I was thrilled with the choice of songs/rhymes contained in this book as it has captured the forgotten yet well loved songs/rhymes. My 3 year old is just starting to say rhymes and sing songs and it has helped us to have great fun doing the actions with the confidence of being able to refer to the words as necessary. Included in the 73 are: I am the music man..., Horsey, horsey, don't you stop...,If you go down to the woods today..., The animals went in by two by two...,This old man he played one... and Girls and boys come out to play.
The rhymes/songs have brightly coloured, large figures depicting the gist of the song on backgrounds which fill the page. The figures (bears/animals/people) have wonderfully expressive body language although the facial expressions are somewhat lacking at times. This hardcovered, beautifully presented, 108 page book is an ideal gift for your 2-5 year old. Playtime Rhymes is printed on high quality paper with a gloss finish.
