Customer Reviews
Great for beginners!
Having roughly decided that I might like to study Politics at University, I realised that I really didn't know that much about it, and that it might be helpful to get an idea of whether or not the course would be right for me. Then I came across this book, and I decided to give it a go! Its great if you're new to Politics, whether you're wanting to study it or not, and its got loads of helpful definitions along the way. Thanks to this book, I've now applied to do Politics at University, and this is what helped to cement my decision!
Politics from a leftwing perspective
This book introduces basic politics from the perspective of somewhere left of Stalin, so teachers and lecturers will love it. This book is not for those with a more centre-right political outlook. For example, for the chapter on race you only get the Boasian definition that race is an optical illusion and that the human species is already so mixed genetically that, and I quote verbatim, "most US 'Blacks' would be regarded as whites in tropical Africa". If you found that daft like I did then please, buy a different book, such nonsense is not fit to base an understanding of politics on.
