Synopsis
DISC 1: The story of the Mercury program that paved the way for Gemini, Apollo, the Space Shuttles and SkyLab missions that will perhaps one day result in inter-planetary travel for all. The race to the moon began in earnest as Alan Shepard in Freedom 7 and John Glenn in Friendship 7 orbit the earth.

DISC 2: The Eagle Has Landed! - The Americans win the race to moon in 1969, watched in awe by over one billion people around the world but the Apollo 13 mission tempered the glorification of space travel as the world held its breath as the crew revealed 'Houston We Have A Problem!'

DISC 3: The beginning of a new era with the signing of the Soviet-American space agreement to expedite the exploration of outer-space that resulted in the first Apollo-Soyuz mission in 1972.
