Does its basic job effectively
Despite all the manufacturers' claims, and the addition of turntables or paddle stirrers, everyone will have experienced the unevenness with which microwave ovens heat food. It is remarkable how such a simple thing as a plastic cover can improve matters; they really do work.

The Kitchen Craft cover is as good as any. Despite being of fairly thin plastic (most covers tend to be. I'm told this makes them more effective) it looks as though it should be durable if not treated carelessly. Mine has survived the dishwasher. I'm not totally convinced about the air vent, though I can see the theory, but overall it works well when reheating food. It fits a standard plate, though if you reheat frequently and with different sized plates, you may be better off going for a set of varying sizes.

You can buy covers like these in your local supermarket of course, probably as effective; nevertheless the Kitchen Craft is good value and does its basic job well enough. Can't ask for more!

Just like plate rings this is OK in a moderate oven as well as Microwave. Unwise to use in hot oven as may melt.
