Feels Very Real!5
Being a huge fan of Snooker since the age of about 5 years old, I obviously was eagerly awaiting the release of this game and was delighted when that day came.

Firstly, I'd like to point out that the graphics aren't the best - this game is on the Wii and therefore, not in HD and not the smoothest of graphics, however that didn't take away from the whole experience.

When I first played WSC Real 08, I played around with the controls for a few seconds until I figured out which buttons performed which tasks. From there on, it was a matter of, "shall I stun up for the blue or force through the pack of reds for the black?"

The fact that you actually have to feather (or 'practice', for those of us who aren't obsessed by Snooker) your shot before you hit the cueball is truly quite enjoyable as most Snooker players out there will know that you always have to judge how hard to hit the white ball by adjusting the speed and pace of the cue before striking the cue ball. This is what you have to do here - to practice, you simply pull the cue (Wii remote) back, and the thrust it forward however hard or gently as you'd like. A power gauge in the top left hand corner indicates how hard your shot will be if it were played for real. Once you are happy with the power, you simply hold down 'B' and try to replicate your desired pace in order to take your shot. Easy.

Overall, I'd say that the gameplay is fabulous (if you don't mind that the graphics aren't too fancy), and if you are a fan of Snooker, then this will definitely appeal to you.

I will also be buying the Xbox 360 version when that it released purely for the fact that I would love to see how good this game will look in fabulous HD!

Highly recommended!

Fantastic!!!5
Beofre i say anything, it's best you know i'm not a fan of snooker. I don't mind playing it but i'm not great at it! and i never watch it on tv, so this is a totally unbiased, honest review.
I go this for my dad, who does play snooker, as i red good reviews of it. He opened it up, fixed the cue together and since that moment, hasn't put it down! he loves it and I have to say, i prefer it to the real thing! it's totally absorbing and fantastic to play.
People have complained about the graphics but the rooms, tables and furnishings are actually really good for the wii, the player graphics are a bit basic, but you can create your own look and the animation on the player is actually good. You do at least feel like a player as it goes into first perspective view.
The tables, animation and gameplay of the snooker games is excellent, looks tootally real on screen and cannot be faulted. The movement and they way you play with the cue makes it feel real considering its a game!!
Also people have complained about the cue, getting in the way with regards the sensor. Have to say we never had this once! the cue works wonders! its so real you feel like chalking it sometimes!
Gameplay is excellent too, the cue action, the options on the cue ball, the pace, the feel, its virtually like the real thing. There are season, practice, pool and various other modes.
Audio is great too, with commentary from John Virgo and Steve Davis and relates well to what is going on screen.
I love this game and i as i mentioned, i don't even like snooker. The game producers have done an amazing job. If you do like snooker this is an absolute must have! one of the best games on the wii for me.

great gift idea!5
I got this for a freind of mine and we ended up playing it for hours!

Once you get used to the Cue (dont go waving it all over you wouldnt with a real cue afterall!) the game becomes even more enjoyable!

This was a great gift for my freind and im sure you will find the same!

GREAT FUN!
