Synopsis
This title features stories from a Cornish tin mine in the 1800's, narrated by the mine-doctor. The tragic tales include: "Davey" - A boy of twelve, forced to work in the mines by his father, is brought up to the surface dead after an explosion underground; "The Ghost of the Seventy-five" - The restless ghosts of the many men, women and children who have fallen victim to the mines, taunt a "tributor" trying to steal another "tributer's" stash of rich ore - or do they; "The Tragedy of the Whim Shaft" - Three young lives are lost for nothing; "Mortal Rag" - A miner nobly sacrifices his life for the sake of the girl he loves, allowing another man to take his turn on the kibble as an explosion is about to rock the mine; and "Pere et Fils" - Father and son die in each other arms after their air supply runs out.
