Coronation Street : The 1980's (10 Disc Box Set)2
I already own the 70's compilation but would certainly NOT entertain the notion of paying just under £160.00 for this set. There are no special features of any kind and some of the footage looks decidedly ropey and in need of restoration. The box is just a flimsy lump of cardboard. No, Network/Granada need to think again if they want people to buy their boxed sets. Too expensive by far and NOT up to modern standards for a DVD release.

Classic Coronation Street!5
For me, Coronation Street was at it's best in the 80s with brilliant characters such as Ivy, Jack and Vera, Elsie, Annie, Fred Gee, Stan and Hilda, Bet and Alec and many more in fine form. Betty Williams (then Turpin) even had some storylines. The stories in the 80s Coronation Street were brilliant and second to none.
This is a must for all soap fans who are interested in the golden era of the Street.
Highly recommened!

Coronation Street, the best Decade.4
Coronation Street has always been part of Television Culture Since it started in 1960; Millions of us have been gripped by the events, which take place in the fictional town of Wetherfield.

In 1980 Coronation Street was Broadcasted twice weekly Mondays and Wednesdays, and watched by an average 20 Million, Famous episodes will always be remembered such as Ken, Deirdre and Mike, - the love triangle which gripped the nation in 1983 when Deirdre choose Ken over Mike, and featured on the front page of national newspapers. The Rovers Fire, when Bet Lynch almost got burned alive in 1986, and in 1989 when Alan Bradley was hit by a tram at Blackpool.

Each of these episodes and many more will be featured on this DVD, however you can buy these episodes on Video anyway. There are 80 Episodes to choose from which also include my favourite episode from 1986 when Ken thumps Mike in his factory. I Personally would wait six or Seven Months for each individual year to be released then buy them.

This Decade contains the best episodes ever apart from Richard Hillmans Reign of terror in 2003.
