About the Author
Sally Harding is passionate about antique textiles and embroideries, and has had a long line of needlework-related professions. Sally co-authored a major needlework encyclopedia in the late 1970s and has authored and edited books and articles on knitting, crochet, and embroidery ever since. She was the Technical Knitting Editor for Vogue Knitting from 1982 to 1983 when it made a comeback as the premier American knitting magazine. For many years she has edited most of the much-admired books of designer Kaffe Fassett, and been endlessly inspired by his invaluable contribution to knitting. A knitting "engineer" and pattern writer, as well as a designer, Sally delights in experimenting with knitting techniques.

You're the one for me, fatty
I recently bought this book and am quite excited by some of the projects, particulary the oddments scarves and the rag rug. I am also very pleased that not all the patterns use "real" wool; as a vegan, I do not feel able to use any of the chunky wools around (by Rowan for example). This has been very frustrating as I have been keen to try knitting on large needles for a long time. This is a great book if you want to stretch your creativity as a knitter a bit and make some items that grow fast.

disappointed
I don't think I will make any of the projects in this book. None of the projects are clothes and the yarns selected are very strange.
