Great for travel, and even better in a pinch!
I've been using this when I travel, because it works well with my MP3 player (as, I gather, it does with all MP3 players) and the sound gets REALLY loud without any loss of quality whatsoever. It's a bit of a battery hog, but you get a lot of lifespan out of them at least.

However, my PC speakers just kicked the bucket after five years, so I decided to plug the speaker cube into the headphone jack. It sounds absolutely brilliant, I'm so glad I had it on hand - I'm playing games, watching movies, listening to music, and hearing every word and note crystal clear. And best of all, you can take out the batteries and power it with a USB cable (one of those ones that ends in a tiny, funny-shaped connector) which makes it ideal for PC use.

very good value for money, very good sound quality
A while back I read about this product in The Times on Sunday. It was recommended by their gadget section, and because I had been looking for a speaker for my mp3 player for a while I thought I would try it out, considering it was quite cheap, so it wouldn't really matter if the sound quality/volume wasn't very good.
When I first plugged my mp3 player in and turned on some music I was amazed by how good the quality and volume were. You could fill a room with the sound coming from this cube, with no loss of quality!!
But there is one downside: it needs four AA batteries to work. However is this not a problem for me as I use rechargable batteries.
Overall, this is a very good speaker for the price you pay; I will be buying another soon for a different room!

Impressive
Very good sound quality for such a small speaker - I listen to a lot of "spoken word" using my Creative Zen MX with this and I'm very impressed!
