Trying to make the leap from 'Punter' to Pro? - Read This!
If you've ever been even remotely tempted to use progresive staking systems then this book is worth buying alone for it's damning evidence on the Martingale system in particular. If I'd had this the year it was first published it would have paid for itself fifty - fold in no time!
Having financed much of my 'gambling education' the hard and expensive way first, it is at least very satisfying to find that my current strategies bear a very close relation to those outlined.
Apart from a thorough analysis of the part played by different staking systems, sound logical arguments are given for at least the general type of bets more likely to lead to long term profits and some of the sports where such bets are more readily available.
To an extent, reading this has merely served to reinforce alot of stuff I had already found out the hard way but is none the worse for that (and essential reading for any betting novice).
Where this book really scores for me though is in the various methods outlined for the examination of an existing betting record with a view to predicting long term performance. In my view, such tools are essential unless you already happen to have a consistently profitable system statistically proven over many hundreds or thousands of bets.
Very technical
Covers teh subject of risk management and bet placing perfectly, tons of information, graphs information.
More of a 'This is what will happen if yo do this' type of book than one that tells you just how to pick a horse, so heavily maths based.
a bit over rated
i bought this book on the strength of the other reviews, however in my opinion , it is very overatted, the book starts off simply enough with some gambling and investement information, if your an experienced gambler though you will have heard all of this before though. The book then gets very heavy, with uninteresting reading , graphs and equations all of which are not much of real use. It might be because i have done a level statistical maths before, but to be honest i cant see this book helping anyone with there fixed odds sports betting
